Adapting the National Covid19 Response plan on Municipal Level

The COVID-19 National Response Plan is an attempt to organize, coordinate, and monitor efforts to respond to the pandemic at the level of Libyan municipalities and engage the national community, where joint work and coordination among all sectors is taking place to mitigate the pandemic's effects on the health, economic, and social levels.

The purpose of this assignment was to strengthen the coordination between key actors in their response to the COVID-19 pandemic at the municipality level. This entailed aligning municipality-level response measures with the National COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan. This assignment was intended to assess the effectiveness of the measures being taken and to improve coordination between the MECs' functions at the national level. This was achieved by considering the medical, economic, and social effects of COVID-19 on Libyan society in alignment with the Libyan government's COVID-19 National Response Plan. Municipal face-to-face workshops with 18 partner municipalities, as well as a final national workshop, were held under the title "Supporting COVID-19 Coordination Between National and Municipal Levels" to increase stakeholder participation in establishing and developing effective strategies to combat the pandemic. These workshops were held in the presence of experts in a variety of crucial positions. The participants shared their experiences to gain a deeper understanding and to provide recommendations that effectively contributed to tackling and restricting the development of the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings of the evaluation laid the groundwork for the Libyan authorities and other stakeholders to properly create solutions to the pandemic's difficulties.
