Provision of trainings to National Economic Development

Board (NEDB) staff on PPPs and SDGs for business

The Movenpick Hotel in Istanbul hosted two successful 5-day training programs for senior Libyan government officials, including the National Economic and Social Development Board, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Labour, and Ministry of Social Welfare. The training aimed to build capacity in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and Social Development Goals (SDGs) in business.

The PPP training was delivered by Mamoun Besaiso and Samer Oun and covered topics such as resource mobilization, the economy of Libya, private sector role, PPP framework and process, legal and institutional setup, market analysis, risk analysis, investment and finance, and risk management. Effective training methods, including case studies from Jordan, Turkey, the USA, and Tunis, were used to engage the participants.

The SDGs in Business training was delivered by Iyas Sabri and Mamoun Besaiso and aimed to bridge the knowledge gap on SDGs in business and help participants incorporate these goals into their strategies and policies for sustainable economic and social development in Libya. The training consisted of interactive exercises and presentations and was based on effective training methods such as the Participatory Approach and Learning by Doing.

The participants showed a strong commitment to learning and appreciated the trainers' professional handling of the course, easy-to-understand training material, and focus on practical application with real-life examples. The training programs provided valuable knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on Libya's sustainable development
